Archive and seals
Every list is sealed before it is published, so anyone can check it was fixed before we traded.
The first seal appears the evening before the first list takes effect.
How to check a seal
- Download the sealed file for the month (it is published with the list).
- Compute its SHA-256 fingerprint. On a Mac:
shasum -a 256 list-2026-10.txt. On Linux:sha256sum list-2026-10.txt. On Windows:certutil -hashfile list-2026-10.txt SHA256. - Check that it matches the fingerprint published the evening before. The file ends with a random value, so nobody could work out the list from the fingerprint in advance.
- To check when the fingerprint was made, open its proof file (
.ots) at opentimestamps.org. The proof ties the fingerprint to a Bitcoin block, which no one can back-date.
